Attend Sunset Parade While Living In Military Housing May Through August 2014

No stay in military housing in Washington DC would be complete without seeing the Marine Corps Band Sunset Parade.  If you are living in DC May 27th through August you must see this event.  Occurring on Tuesdays at 7:00 pm (6:30pm  in August) this is a one hour free event. The performance features the music of "The Commandant's Own", The United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps and precision drill by the Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon.  Reservations are not necessary. Spacious lawns provide ample room for you to bring lawn chairs and blankets for informal viewing. No other type of seating is available, except for invited guests of the Parade Reviewing Officials.  You will be moved by this tribute presented in the shadow of the 32-foot high figures of the United States Marine Corps War Memorial.  Be sure to check the schedule when making your plans.
