Polar Bear Migration

Today we're going to take you on a little journey to the north. Actually...it's way, way north! Did you know that polar bears go through an annual migration in Canada? It happens right near one small town of Churchill, Manitoba. In fact, every year, this little town of only 800 residents experiences more than one thousand bears on their journey for food. Polar bears make their way near Churchill while making way towards their feeding grounds on the ice covered Hudson Bay. Their main diet of seals (high protein and fat), allows them to build up the necessary layer of 4.5 inches of fur, hide, and blubber to survive the cold winters. What an amazing animal.  Have a wonderful day in Washington, DC!
