Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History



There’s nothing quite like a day’s visit to the spectacular Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. Opened in 1910, the green-domed museum on the National Mall was among the first Smithsonian building constructed specifically to house the national collections and research facilities. The National Museum of Natural History has a collection of more than 125 million natural science specimens and cultural artifacts. This vast museum is the most visited natural history museum in the world. The research facility is dedicated to inspiring discovery about the natural world through its exhibitions and education programs. Admission is free.
