Visit Washington Redskins Training Camp While Staying In Corporate Housing

Something that the Washington Redskins do each year when they begin there training and hold their summer training camp is to welcome fans to watch the fun.  During this years camp; July 24th through August 11th you can bring your lawn chair and sunscreen and watch all of the hard hitting action. Practice sessions last between 90 minutes to two hours.  After each session you will have the opportunity to take photos and get autographs with the players. If you are living in corporate housing on August 2nd, that is Fan Appreciation Day.  At noon there will be special events for fans.  On August 7th there is a preseason game against the Patriots at FedExField at 7:30 pm. There is no cost for these events but you will need to register.  The training camp is in Richmond Virginia on West Leigh Street.

Tennis A Favorite When Staying In Corporate Housing

Enjoy "A Garden Of Wonders" When Living In Military Housing

 Join Smithsonian At 8 for "A Garden Of Wonders" when you are living in military housing this month.  On July 18th, The Enid A. Haupt Garden and Smithsonian Castle is transformed after dark into a colorful, magical wonderland. Music provided by DJ Alkimist provides the background for outdoor games, craft activities and some other surprises.  The event is for adults, 21 and over.  Be there at 8:00 pm and plan to stay late.  If Alice and Wonderland is a favorite of yours, you will love the theme.  Wander the grounds illuminated by lanterns and play giant chess, croquet or cornhole.  Jump in the photo booth and take some souvenir pictures. See The King When Staying In Corporate Housing This Month

King at Warner Theater.  On Thursday July 17th at 8:00 pm be in your seats for the show of a lifetime.  Get your tickets ASAP since this is sure to sell out.  The legendary B. B. King shows are few and far between and should be one of the things on your bucket list. Unusual Summer House A Great Stop When Visiting Military Housing

 I found an unusual site to visit when I was last in Washington DC.  When you are staying in our military housing this summer get a look at the Summer House at the Capitol. The Summer House is a small, red hexagonal brick building just downhill of the Capitol Building on the northwest side. It looks like an old World War II bunker and has red brick and tile in an unusual style. It was built in about 1880 as a place for visitors to stop to get water on their way to the Capitol Building. Because there was a natural spring that bubbled up there, the building was built around it.  There are benches and shady areas to rest. In the original design the water gathered in a large bowl and ladles were set around it for drinking.  As the water ran off it was directed down a carillon that was supposed to make music.  It never worked..........

Today the water is supplied by the city, not the spring. The red tiles and other areas are showing wear, but it is a very unique site that most people don't know exists.

Movies A Great Distraction While Living In Corporate Housing

While living in corporate housing this summer you will want to see some of the newly released movies.  The Regal 14 on 7th St. NW will have all of the new releases.  With 14 screens and stadium seating the is the premier venue in the area. Visit Vietnam Memorial Wall When Living In Military Housing

No trip to the Nations Capital would be complete without visiting the many monuments and memorials on the Mall.  Be sure to see the Vietnam Veterans Memorial while living in  military housing this summer.  Truly awe inspiring this memorial must be seen and touched to really be appreciated.  Emotional and moving you can't help but ache when you see it. A directory of names is available to look at and find each person listed.  If you have family or friends that were lost in the Vietnam War, don't miss finding them on the wall.  Photograph, or trace their name and take this with you when you leave.  Considered "The Wall That Heals", it honors the 58,000 men and women who lost their lives in this controversial war.

Visit Botanic Garden When Living In Military Housing

Car Show For Fathers Day Celebration When Corporate Housing Is Your Home This Week

Celebrate Father's Day June 15th at the Crystal City Car Show from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at 2121 Crystal Drive & 220 20th Street South.  On display will be a variety of automobile categories including innovative electric vehicles, sports cars, classic muscle cars, and more. There are activities for kids including the chance to paint their own race car and play in a moon bounce. Fairfax Festival Happening This Weekend. Don't Miss The Fun While You Are Staying In Our Corporate Housing

Hall & Oates Tour In Area While You Live In Corporate Housing

You may not tell everyone.............but you know you love Hall & Oates.  And, on June 19th you will have a chance to see them in concert if you are staying in the DC area in corporate housing.
