On March 2, 2025, the Capital One Arena will host "Legacy on Ice," a benefit ice show honoring the victims of the tragic mid-air collision over the Potomac River involving American Airlines Flight 5342 and a U.S. Army helicopter. The event features multiple generations of figure skating greats, including Olympic champions Brian Boitano and Kristi Yamaguchi, alongside members of local skating clubs and professional sports teams.
