While living in corporate housing in DC in August you have a chance to see a unique annual event not
seen elsewhere. The Capital Dragon Boat Regatta takes
place on August 23rd beginning at 9:00 am at The Southwest Waterfront.This area has
undergone wonderful improvements and has enhanced pedestrian access, hotels,
restaurants, premium shopping, and entertainment options. The channel is deep and still and the racing
should be fast and furious. This is a family
friendly event and is an open competition. You may want to participate and anyone 12
years of age or older is welcome. No
experience is needed and there are training session available prior to the
event.
