Tuesday, September 24 (Also offered October 1 and 22.)
10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Immerse yourself in the history and
horticulture of centuries-old trees, heirloom plants and flowers, and fragrant
boxwood on this lively guided walk. Tudor Place's 5.5 acres reflect two
centuries of landscape design and changing land use from the Federal period to
modern times. See how orchards, vegetable gardens, stables and grazing land
made way for lawns, rose gardens, fountains and the various garden “rooms” of
an urban estate, and familiarize yourself with the many plant varieties
cultivated. It's a relaxing and informative tour that is a wonderful way to spend the day.
